About Sentry

Sentry is the debuggability platform built for how modern developers work. Over 4 million developers worldwide trust Sentry’s opinionated approach to debugging—favoring action over dashboards—which gives them the context and code level visibility they need to solve issues fast. Sentry users spend more time building and less time firefighting.

About All Things Web

We are a group of web enthusiasts who love to bring the community together and chat about all things web! We organize events for the React Bay Area and Remix Bay Area meetup groups, and you can find all our events on the All Things Web Luma calendar. Visit allthingsweb.dev to find our Discord and stay connected!

On stage

React renders - do they matter?

React can be tricky to optimize. The issue is that component props are compared by reference, not value. This is intentional – this way rendering can be cheap to run. However, this makes it easy to accidentally cause unnecessary renders, making the app slow. Even in production apps, with hundreds of engineers, can't fully optimize their apps.

In this talk, Aiden will dive into React performance and demo React Scan to detect performance issues and highlight renders that cause performance issues.

Anti-Crash Course: Building Better Errors and Traces

We've all seen apps crash with screens that tell you nothing about what's actually broken (Hi anon framework, we see you), and leave you with little to go on to figure out solving it. Lets jump in and fix that, hands on!

Fun thing too - at the All Things Web meetup last night, i showed running @getsentry inside MCP servers to monitor for errors and performance. Hugely useful for digging into whats broken / not working and why. Again, SUPER flexible platform.
